School Message

Camillus Middle School is located in the western end of the West Genesee School District. It is the home of approximately 575 students in grades 6th through 8th.

Camillus Middle School operates on the team concept. Students are assigned to a group of academic teachers who manage their programs throughout the year. The philosophy of Camillus Middle School is:

  • That we believe that our school must commit itself to the development of positive self image.
  • We believe that acquiring, applying skills, understanding and knowledge for maximum educational development are basic goals for each student.
  • We believe that our school must continue to recognize as its central commitment the development of democratic values such as worth of the individual, self-determination, adherence to basic responsibilities, etc.
  • We believe that the best of what we know and learn about good educational practice should be used in the design and appraisal of our school programs. We also must be aware that change is needed to keep this a functioning philosophy. The direction of change should be guided by the needs of all individuals in the school community.
