Question: What time does my child need to be waiting at his/her morning stop?

Answer: Parents should have their child ready 10 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive.

Question: Will the bus leave the stop without my child if she/he is not waiting at the bus stop location?

Answer: Yes! The student must be waiting at his/her stop except in extreme weather.

Question: What time will the bus arrive to pick up my child?

Answer: Contact Transportation Department with any questions concerning your child’s exact pick-up time. (The bus should arrive at the same approximate time each day.)

Question: What time will the bus arrive at the afternoon drop-off point?

Answer: The drop-off times for afternoon bus runs usually depend on distance, traffic, weather, and other related issues. Contact Transportation Department with any questions concerning your child’s exact pick-up time. (The bus should drop-off at the same approximate time each day.)

Question: What are my options if my child misses the bus in the morning due to no fault of his/her own?

Answer: Call the Transportation Department immediately.

Question: Who do I call if I believe that my child’s bus stop location is not acceptable?

Question: What is the process for requesting an temporary afternoon bus stop location that is different from the morning stop location?

Answer: Contact the school office that your child attends.

Question: What is the process for requesting any permanent bus changes?

Answer: All requests are to be made in person and in writing to the school office.

Question: What will I do when my child stops riding for an extended length of time? (5 days or more)

Answer: Inform the Transportation Department.

Question: What will I do if I want my child to ride a different bus from the one he/she normally rides?

Answer: Provide a written request to the child’s school principal.

Question: What happens if my child breaks the bus rules?

Answer: Consequences for inappropriate behavior on the bus depends on the infraction. Consequences may range from driver/student conference, change of seating, to removal from the bus. In situations where the infraction is significant, drivers will write disciplinary referrals and Transportation Supervisor will refer to the appropriate grade level administrator. (The same rules and consequences are the same as in a classroom.)
