Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Friends,
Once again, we are thankful to have had your children during this school year. The students continue to make school an exciting place and have represented themselves as quality young ladies and gentlemen that you can be proud of as parents. Our students have achieved success in the classrooms, on the athletic fields, in the fine arts, in various clubs, and in the areas of respect and responsibility. A tremendous thanks goes to the fine teaching staff at WGMS.
Enclosed in this newsletter you will find our final exam and assessment schedule for June. Please note that during the dates of June 20 through June 25, students are dismissed at 10:30 AM. We hope that all the information from this year's newsletters has been informative and useful. I would like to express my gratitude to the PTA Officers for all of their energy and support they have provided to our children and programs that we offer middle level students.
Additionally, as we did last year, a building level committee addresses the topic of Bullying. Related to this is a survey that will be administered to all students some time in June. The questionnaire responses will be anonymous and there will be no connection to any individual students. The information gained will provide some baseline data so that we can evaluate our students' needs. Feel free to call if you have questions.
We encourage your involvement in the promotion of summer reading. You can find information on our web site regarding this program.
On a final note, the staff at WGMS would like to thank Joe Proscia for his years of service to this community. His leadership has provided a positive impact and helped put West Genesee in the forefront of outstanding school districts.
We have certainly waited for the nice weather to join us; it has arrived.
