Dear West Genesee Families,

The start of a school year is a unique time that is experienced in many ways. Year after year, children and adults share this time from multiple perspectives. Students, staff, parents, and community members bring memories from the past and hope for that which is approaching.

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! There is excitement to embark on another year of learning, growth, and discovery together. As we open our doors to a new academic year, we extend our warmest welcome to all our returning families and a special greeting to those joining our District for the first time. From my experience and perspective, West Genesee is a very special place.

"The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you." - B.B. King

This quote from the American blues singer and accomplished guitarist cites the personal connection with learning. Knowledge, critical thinking, and problem solving are valuable possessions that endures throughout life, enriching and empowering individuals. This is true with our shared commitment to a comprehensive education that includes rich opportunities in multiple areas inside and outside of classrooms.

The start of a new school year is a time of anticipation and possibility. It's a chance for students to set new goals, explore new interests, and make new friends. It's also an opportunity for families to become involved in their children's education and support them in their journey. Please look for the many ways to be a part of the school year with communication through ParentSquare as our dedicated communication system, information contained in this year’s Events Calendar/Information Guide (coming soon after school begins), and through accessing the West Genesee CSD Website.

We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment where all students can reach their full potential. We look forward to partnering with you to make this school year a memorable and successful one.

Sincerely,

David C. Bills, Superintendent of Schools
