The 48th Annual West Genesee Performing Arts Citrus Sale has Begun! This is the only fundraiser run by the entire Performing Arts Department and benefits our students by paying for and minimizing cost for a wide variety of services above and beyond those provided by the District. Each year we award three $500 music scholarships from our citrus profits. We pay for visiting artists like conductor Brian Doyle and jazz musician/conductor Bret Zvacek, sponsor visits by the Alvin Ailey dancers, purchase new equipment, costumes and instruments, assist with travel expenses, and help minimize student/parent costs for our upcoming WGHS musical “Cinderella - Broadway Edition”. Each of these enrichment opportunities directly benefit your children. The fruit will be delivered to us on Friday, December 8 and will be available for pick up that afternoon and evening from 2:30–6:00 p.m. as well as the next morning, Saturday, December 9 from 9-11 a.m. Looking to order citrus? Thanking our Veterans,
What a great way to head into the Veterans Day weekend! Split Rock came together for a heartwarming assembly that left a lasting impression on everyone present.
This year's Veterans Day Assembly was remarkable, bringing students and staff together to pay tribute to our nation's heroes and recognize 19 distinguished Veteran VIP Guests. It was a wonderful experience for our students and staff to come together and express their appreciation for the sacrifices made by our veterans.
A highlight of the event was our VIP Guest Speaker, Mr. Craig Dowler, his words served as a powerful reminder of the importance of honoring and supporting our veterans and the impact they have on our community and country as a whole.
The assembly showcased our Grade 4 chorus members singing the National Anthem. This was followed by four Grade 4 students delivering a reading on the “History of Veterans Day” delivering a message on how this day came to be.
We want to give a special shout-out to our Superintendent Mr. David Bills, who played Taps and the many members of our West Genesee High School Wildcat Marching Band who performed the powerful “Star Spangled Banner.”
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this memorable and meaningful Veterans Day celebration.
BE AWESOME!
Mr. Kimpland
Thank you to all of our veterans for their service and sacrifices that allow us to have the opportunities and freedoms that we do!
Reminder: No School tomorrow, Friday, November 10, in observance of Veterans Day! Thank you veterans!
