Principal Message

Dear Onondaga Road Families,

As I reflect back on this short week to write this message, I'm amazed at how many great activities we were able to squeeze into four days. Our kindergarten and second graders had Jack Gremlich visit their classrooms to teach them about pond habitats and the differences between frogs and toads. Our third graders went on an exciting field trip to the M.O.S.T. All of our fourth grade classes visited WGIS and got to learn more about what a day in the life of a fifth grader will be like. During their visit, they toured the school and got to meet some of the teachers. This experience will help them feel ready to transition to fifth grade. Everytime I popped into the first grade classrooms, I was amazed at the progress they are making with learning how to read. They were even working on a slideshow to explain what they have learned about the solar system.

Earlier in the month our P2 Committee planned a Buddy Day where students got together and did a planting activity. Many of those seeds have sprouted and we were able to get the Onondaga Road garden planted this week. It was great to see this activity come full-circle and have students recognize the positive impact of their efforts.

As we observe Memorial Day, I want to take a moment to honor and thank all of our service members and their families. Their dedication allows us to enjoy the freedoms that we have today.

Thank you for your continued support and please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any concerns or questions that you may have.

Respectfully,

Michelle Collier
