Dear West Genesee Families,

Here we go!

We are approaching a special time in schools. Every year, June feels as if it has a greater amount of days, the days are longer than other months, and time moves at a faster pace. Of course, none of that is true. June has comparable days to September, November and April, it has fewer days than seven other months, and is lengthier only to the month of February. And, of course, at a constant pace there are 24 hours per day. (Okay, extra points if you decide to factor the changes between Daylight Savings Time and Eastern Standard Time.)

June is filled with a greater number of culminating events, “last ones,” and acknowledgments more than any other time of the year. There is a “finish line” feel to June that reminds us to celebrate growth and achievement prior to the transition that is eventually a next grade or new opportunity. Your presence makes us complete and your engagement makes it even more special. Please look for ways to be a part of the many events in June… it goes by quickly!

Wildcat Ambassadors

Our students make us proud in so many ways throughout the year. They serve to represent West Genesee in the highest regard. Recently, there have been events and accomplishments that are noteworthy in and out of the classroom. As a culmination, we are moving toward award ceremonies in academics, athletics, and fine arts. Similarly, individuals and groups are performing at high levels in concerts, showcases, and regular and post-season efforts. Examples include the extraordinary quality of the 49th Annual Kaleidoscope event, Section III Championship Games, and NYS recognition.

Repeatedly, outside guests comment about West Genesee that “This is a special place.” The evidence is all around us and best represented by the actions of our young people. Let us not forget that standing behind them are the adults that make it possible and cheer the loudest. Thank you!
