Hello WGIS Families,
We packed a lot into this short week! It is always a treat to have next year's 5th grade class come over for a visit and tour. I am especially impressed and proud of our 5th grade student panel who handled all the questions with such grace and expertise! We also had the opportunity to present to the 4th grade parents on Wednesday night. This is a highlight as well as we get to talk about all the wonderful things we have done and will be doing!
The West Genesee Teaching Center celebrated its 50 year anniversary at our annual Collegial Cafe this past Monday. I'm proud to say that WGIS was well represented. Staff throughout the district take time to collaborate with colleagues while researching important topics. They, in turn, share their research and findings with staff.
The 5th-grade Wax Museum kicked off this week and will be spread amongst the teams over the next couple of weeks. The effort and creativity put in by students is inspiring! Be sure to check out the photos below.
Finally, I hope you enjoy this long Memorial Day weekend. We are grateful everyday to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the armed forces protecting our freedoms.
Warmest Regards,
Michael McGrath
