Principal McGrath

Hello WGIS Families,

Well we wrapped up our last full week of classes and I can comfortably say that we are not slowing down! Our 5th grade band, orchestra, and chorus started the week with a rousing performance at WGHS and we ended the week with an impressive display of flags and superheros amongst students and staff.

On Thursday, the 2024 Senior Class loaded buses and drove by WGIS to a loud ovation of applause and appreciation from 800+ staff and students! This event always gives me goosebumps especially this year as I thought of my daughter who is graduating. CMS School Counselors also joined us on Thursday as they met with all 6th graders, the Class of 2030, in preparation for their next step.

Weather permitting, this Thursday we will have our first 5th grade field day. This event, like so many others (Greek Olympics, Genny Journal, Run Club, DEI Student Group, Book Swap, Genny Palooza, and too many others to list), come to fruition on the backs of staff and parents who take the initiative to come up with an idea and make it happen all while having the student experience in mind. I can not thank you enough! Have a great weekend folks!

Warmest Regards,

Michael McGrath
